Local trains in India let you observe the flow of life forces in common people..daily commuters to work, school goers, local vendors and street food sellers. Stories in layers unfold in front of your eyes, the great diversity in culture, dress and the way the commuters talk somehow get threaded through the journey of daily life. The last photo however depicts the lives lost or harmed through lack of security and carelessness, mishaps and even murders occurring in local train tracks. Death is also a part of the life that has a start and a stop..just like these trains. All shots are taken in the city and suburbs of Kolkata, India.
